Salt Lake City, UT — Utah Music Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing scholarships to musical students from Utah communities, is proud to offer a new piano scholarship to honor Carolyn Reid Ogden. This $500 scholarship will be offered to Utah high school seniors with a background in piano and will honor the late Carolyn Reid Ogden, a beloved pianist, chorister, and educator.

“Carolyn Reid Ogden’s impact on the lives of countless students and fellow musicians is immeasurable. The creation of a piano scholarship in her name is a fitting tribute to her life's work and a testament to the incredible impact she had on those around her.” says Tim Eaton, President and Founder of Utah Music Foundation. “We are grateful for the generous contributions of her family and friends that make this scholarship possible.”

One $500 scholarship will be awarded based on the student’s involvement in piano and a brief essay. This short essay will invite students to reflect on how music, and specifically the piano, has impacted their life and how piano will be a part of their life going forward. The application process is open now at www.utahmusicfoundation.org and concludes March 31. The scholarship winner will be announced later this spring.
